Feli's Intro

So excited I was that our storyboard was approved, I made this:

It felt like it took forever but accumulatively, it took a bit more than 3 hours to do. I'm still not a pro so that's why it takes quite a while ^^; In any case, here's the end result:

as seen from the screenshot, all the moving limbs are separated. The silhoutte ears as well but they came from only one graphic. I still need to study Lovi's fur colour for the next scene...

I really hope this kind of simple flash movements are okay ^^; I'm excited at the prospect of learning more in class.

Reminder: the characters aren't mine. They're from Himaruya Hidekazu's Hetalia subseries, Nekotalia.

It Got Approved~!

We went to see our lecturer today and he approved of the story~!
It really is such a relief. For a moment there, I was afraid it would get rejected for being too simple ;v;
Thank you, Sir~!
We will all do our best.

Walking Cat

There's a glitch in the animation. Hopefully we'll be able to cover about that in class T_T

Either way, my animating skills sucks aren't too good.
Ah...and I forgot to add it's curl

Cat walking limbs

Finished the separate frames
I hope I did it right.
Will attempt to make it walk soon.

As you can see, The right body parts (minus the left ear) overlaps the left one and its body. Hope this helps if anyone has trouble determining which layers should be overlapped.

Character sketch 2

Lovi - Feli's big brother
He appears a lot but not many scenes does he appear fully so I don't think we have to make 19 body parts for him. Maybe just the cat ears, tail, eyes, ahoge(floating hair) and mouth that moves.

Arthur, Antonio and Alfred
All three appear very slightly and never a full body. So I think we just have to separate the cat ears, tails and mouth.

Continuation

It...the lines. They just won't go away...
Although...I mentioned I'd give animating a cat walking a try, I think I should practice more...

Ear test

Testing to see how moving objects in Flash works.
For some reason...it came out with those points. I wonder if there's a way to remove it when exporting as animated gif...
I'll ask later on I guess >_>

Rough draft

Part 1 of 3 rough drafts that will act as a temporary storyboard until we get a suitable template.
The other 2 cannot, of course, be shown. Wouldn't want to destroy the surprise, eh?
:D
Done in PaintTool SAI

Ah...hopefully this one won't be rejected
T_T

Catwalk

sketched by Aini

Trying to figure out how cats walk.
This is so we can see which limbs to move once inside flash
It's a bit incomplete but the basic idea is there hopefully.

Character sketch

Since the previous one got rejected, we brainstormed for another storyline but I was adamant about keeping the title as "1000 words"
more so to keep with the blog
Finally we have a story.
I'm not going to reveal it yet. It has to get our lecturer's approval first ^^;
But I did come up with a character sketch:

Yes, it's a cat.
Here's the basic body parts to separate in flash:

Yeah...there's quite a lot. But we're going for a pretty short animation after all so we probably won't mind the hard work so much, will we?
^^;
  1. Right Ear
  2. Left Ear
  3. Head
  4. Curl (yes, it's separate because it needs to bounce)
  5. Body
  6. Left thigh(?)
  7. Right thigh(?)
  8. Right leg connector
  9. Left leg connector
  10. Left hind leg
  11. Right hind leg
  12. Right shoulder(?)
  13. Right front leg
  14. Right Paw
  15. Left shoulder(?)
  16. Left Front leg
  17. Left Paw
  18. Tail connector
  19. Tail
Admittedly, I know the basic of their anatomy but I don't really know what it's called. As long as I understand it is fine, right?
The cat is based on an existing character in Himaruya Hidekaz's Hetalia subseries "Nekotalia"
It is called Italianeko but we'll just name it Feli, Okay?
I'll attempt to make it walk in flash tomorrow (or the day after) just to see if we can pull it off.
Any changes to it will be updated.
